It was nice to get away, though I'm really not burned out with school yet. I'm having a great time of it, actually. Sarah Mean and I are going to Galena next month, to see the fall colors (and a bunch of damn, stinking ass yuppie tourists - I'll spit on them all). Turning parasols and skirts billowing with wind... Just a quick hello...I am teaching again, and having a wonderful time. I've not been writing as much, but I've a vision of vineyards and a truck with no radio, and the lights of a city spilling across a valley - so I shall. Roger Waters just released two new songs via his website, www.rogerwaters.com . Check them out - they are self-parodying on a grand scale, tuneless, overblown, but still somehow moving. One, "Leaving Beirut," reads like short story. I've lost my political anger but not my resolve. I want to go camping. There is nothing like a river. Except for two rivers.
